Like prints of a painting, the cups that make up the Bowl Maker's “Lucky Cup Line” are faithful reproductions of Cary Lane's originals. Designed in her Washington State studio, made in Thailand. The facility meets European standards for people and planet.

Care Instructions

Lucky Cups are safe to wash in the top rack of the dishwasher and heat in the microwave.

The bottom of the cups is porous and will absorb water during washing. It is best to make sure it can dry upside down completely before putting away, thus allowing all the water to evaporate from the cup to keep it in pristine condition.

Hoping for this animal in a different size cup?

People often ask if they can get their favorite lucky animal in a different size cup.

The short answer is no.

The Lucky Cups have each animal paired with a specific size cup. Cary gravitates towards matching the relative size of the animal with the size of the cup.

The Lucky Cups are a carefully curated line that require balancing capital and space constraints. Also, the art is painted specifically for each size cup--to move the art from one size to another distorts the proportions and does not work. Decisions have been made to keep a wide variety of animals, versus only a few animals put on every size.

About the artist

Dedicated studio artist, in love with a fisherman, mama bear to two young adults, living 100% off grid on solar and hydro power for 25 years, dog rescuer, neighbor to an elk herd that roams the foothills of Mount Baker in Washington State, owner and artist of The Bowl Maker company, too many personal and collaborative art projects to count and always one or two in the hopper, adding to the spark and passing it on, sharing wonder by the cupful.
